How We Work

Getting to Know You

Our first session gives us the opportunity to get to know each other. We assess where you are and where you want to be and ask you to complete a client profile so we can better understand your current financial situation, investment experience, and tolerance for risk. We listen to your concerns, ask lots of questions, and begin to formulate a strategy to address your goals and needs.

Guiding You Through the Transition

Once we’ve gotten to know you and your goals, the next step is to dive deeper into your finances. We’ll take a close look at your investments and explore what changes might be beneficial to align with your future.

We recognize that financial planning often comes with uncertainties, and navigating these can feel overwhelming. That’s why we focus not only on your current circumstances but also on anticipating potential challenges that may arise. We’re here to guide you through this transition, offering advice every step of the way. Rest assured, we will make this process as smooth and seamless as possible. We’re in this together, focused on creating the path that’s right for you.

Moving Forward Together

Once your investment accounts are set up and your assets are securely in place, we’ll begin actively managing your portfolio using a variety of investment strategies. But our relationship goes beyond just managing your investments—we’re committed to keeping you informed and involved every step of the way.  We’ll continue to work closely with you, managing your accounts to help grow your wealth during strong markets and help protect your gains when trends shift. We help you manage uncertainty; we’re a phone call away.

Expect thoughtful updates including monthly account statements from our custodian, the FSA Financial Planning Newsletter, timely market updates, ongoing reviews of your accounts and goals, invitations to webinars, and articles on topics that matter to you.

We’re here to make sure you feel supported, informed, and confident in your financial journey.

A Sense of Relief and Confidence

Our ultimate goal is to give you the peace of mind that comes from knowing your financial future is in good hands. We want you to confidently say, “I’m glad I don’t have to worry about it anymore.” And, of course, we’ll be here whenever you need us—meeting with you periodically to review your portfolio, keeping it aligned with your goals, and adjusting to any changes in your financial situation. We’re with you every step of the way, providing the reassurance you deserve.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does anyone at FSA have access to my money?

No, FSA does not have direct access to your money. The custodian of your account is the only entity with access to your funds. As your advisor, FSA acts as an intermediary between you and the custodian. Our authority is limited to three key functions:

  1. Trading within your account.
  2. Disbursing money directly to you (the account owner).
  3. Deducting our management fee.

Your financial security and control over your funds remain a top priority.

No. FSA is not affiliated with the custodian, nor are we compensated by them in any way through fees, commissions, or incentives. In the spirit of full disclosure, our firm is supplied necessary software that allows our in-house portfolio management system to work efficiently with the custodian’s back-office operations and trading desks. The same software is available to all investment advisors that use them.
Yes, in addition to accessing your account through the custodian’s portal, you will also have access to FSA’s proprietary portal. This user-friendly platform provides an easy-to-understand snapshot of your accounts, showing the allocation of your investments, recent transactions, performance, and our financial planning “Play Zone” feature for interactive planning.
Statements from the custodian are provided on a monthly basis for all accounts. These statements show account balances, trades, and cash flows. Statements are available in paper as well as through email.
Yes. The custodian will provide a form 1099 composite and year-end summary to each client with a taxable account. This is typically provided in February/March of the following year.
